Our beginners yoga course covers the foundational elements of Jivamukti yoga classes. Jivamukti yoga, founded by Sharon Gannon and David Life in New York in 1984, is an integral yoga practice which is designed to stimulate our physical health as well as our thoughts and actions, enhancing our daily lives.
We teach and analyse the structure of the basic yoga poses which comprise the basis of our weekly classes. So the course is suitable for those who are just starting their yoga practice, as well as those who have been practicing yoga, but desire clarification or refinement of postures which form the basis of an open class.
This 4 part course includes:
Week 1 – Standing Asana (posture)
Week 2 – Forward Bending Asana
Week 3 – Backward Bending Asana
Week 4 – Inversions and Integral Practice, basic philosophy and beyond asana
